Ian McLaughlin

Ian McLaughlin is co-founder of the Suggestibles. He’s an actor and film maker and runs award-winning production company Magic If with Bev Fox (his partner in more ways than one for a very long time).

As an improviser he started out in London back in 1988, working with groups such as the Comedy Store Players, Spontaneous Combustion, Theatresports, Late at the Gate, *Court in the Act and The Impro Musical Company – the first company in the world to create a fully improvised musical - the first improv show to play a West End Theatre. The show was adapted for ITV and BBC Radio 4 as the Bootleg Broadway Show, and toured the UK and Europe and played the Edinburgh Festival, where he also played with Bill Bailey’s Beergut 100 for a couple of years at Edinburgh’s Late and Live. For his sins Ian’s appeared in over 100 adverts, and has played a copper several times in 55 Degrees North, River City Blues and Emmerdale. He’s been in lots of shorts and you can see him being shot to pieces in Killing Time – one of director Bharat Nalluri’s earliest feature films. Most recently Ian played the mad King George in The Glass Slipper at Northern Stage.

As an Actor Ian is represented by Janet Plater management. Spotlight link: http://www.spotlight.com/3573-1277-2861
