Welcome to the Suggestibles' School of Improv

We bring you on-going evening improv classes and shows all year round, and a fun and welcoming community you'll want to be part of.

We thrive on doing great work in class. We're enriched by empowering and bonding people, creating space and platforms for creative expression, exploring and developing improv as an art-form, and instilling the ethos of improv on the stage we call life. We love it. And live it.

School of Improv's 2020 schedule is packed full of fun adult evening classes and courses, from Beginner to Improver to Advanced levels, held at Jurys Inn Newcastle on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Our program includes short-form, long-form and musical improv, stagecraft, voice and movement sessions.

We produce monthly showcases at Alphabetti Theatre for our students to perform in, and we curate a further improv night at Bobiks open to experienced and emerging improvisers. As one of our students, you also get half-price tickets to see The Suggestibles' pro shows at the Stand Comedy Club and Cumberland Arms. Bonus!

And you're in safe hands! Formed in 2003, the Suggestibles' School of Improv is the longest-running training and performance ground for improvisers in the UK. Bev Fox and Ian McLaughlin, our founders who develop our program and lead most classes, are highly skilled and accomplished improvisers and teachers. They each have a 32-year career in improvisation, working on stage, TV, radio, film and in workshop, nationally and internationally.
