How to Improvise a Song Part 2

Updated: Apr 30, 2021

So – We’ve covered No: 1 The Loins. You are now willing to get up and just go for it, even if you are convinced you sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger with his nipples caught in a hot Trouser Press.

Great! Have another biscuit. But where does the voice head to next? Unsurprisingly, if you look at the diagram above, it’s the Heart.

Once again. This time with feeling…

The feeling we get in our loins is just that – A Feeling, and we need to send that feeling of courage to the Heart where it can be infused with emotion.

This...

...is an anatomically correct emoji of the Heart. Pick a song you like, any song. How does it make you feel? Sexy, sad, angry, nostalgic? Every song ever written was written to make you feel something (with the exception of any Coldplay song)

So – you are tasked with improvising a song about biscuits. Let the heart lead. Did your lover leave you for someone with a packet of Oreos? Does the taste of a Jaffa Cake remind you of your Mother? Do Reece’s split you into pieces? Find an emotional point of view and the words will come.

If you get emotionally involved in the song, it will help you to Sell it Baby!

Next post – Putting it into words.
